The Academic Coordination Cell of Shivani Engineering College successfully organized a Youth Development Program titled "Mind Matters" on 30th July 2026 with the objective of promoting students' mental well-being, emotional resilience, and holistic personality development.
The programme commenced with the invocation, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. K. Anand, Principal, Shivani Engineering College. In his address, he emphasized the importance of mental wellness in shaping responsible and successful engineers.
The dignitaries Er. V. Balasubramaniam, Vice Principal, Er. G. Uthayakumaran, Dean (Academics), and Er. G. Stephen Raj Kumar, Registrar, felicitated the gathering and highlighted the significance of value-based education, emotional intelligence, and mental well-being in today's competitive academic environment.
The Chief Guest, Mrs. M. Vijayalakshmi, M.E. (Hons.), Faculty, Art of Living International Foundation, Level-2 Yoga Teacher, Ministry of AYUSH (QCI Certified), delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking session on "Mind Matters." She shared practical techniques for stress management, mindfulness, emotional balance, improved concentration, and positive thinking. Through interactive demonstrations and simple breathing exercises, she encouraged students to cultivate inner peace, self-confidence, and a healthy lifestyle to excel in both academics and personal life.
The programme was presided over by Er. S. Vigneshwaran, Secretary, Shivani Institutions, who motivated students to develop self-discipline, confidence, resilience, and a positive mindset as essential qualities for achieving success in their professional and personal lives.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. P. Selvaraj, Chairman, Shivani Institutions, Mrs. Deepakumari, Director, Shivani Institutions, and Mrs. Kaminidevi, Shivani Institutions, whose encouragement and support added great value to the programme.
The management of Shivani Engineering College expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Manickavasagam Initiatives for their valuable support in organizing the programme. Special appreciation was also extended to the Art of Living Foundation volunteers, particularly Mrs. Shanthi and Mrs. Indhumathi, for their dedicated coordination and significant contribution to the successful conduct of the event.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. K. P. Ravi Kumar, Assistant Professor, Shivani Engineering College, followed by the National Anthem.
The session was highly interactive and received an enthusiastic response from the students, who actively participated throughout the programme. The practical guidance on stress management, emotional well-being, and positive living inspired the participants to adopt healthier habits and a balanced approach toward academic excellence and personal growth.
