Shivani Engineering College, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, organized a two-day workshop on “Printed Circuit Board Design with Fabrication Testing” on 12 and 13 October 2026 at the college campus. The workshop aimed to provide students with practical knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) design, fabrication techniques, and testing procedures, enabling them to enhance their technical skills and gain hands-on experience in electronic circuit development.
The programme was presided over by Dr. P. Selvaraj, Hon’ble Chairman, Shivani Institutions. The event featured Mr. S. Suresh, Project Manager, Vi Micro System Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, as the Chief Guest.
The programme commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by A. Karpagam, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME). The address highlighted the importance of technical workshops in promoting practical learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation among students.
The Felicitation Speech was delivered by V. Balasubramaniam, Vice Principal, who emphasized the significance of industry-oriented training and skill development in preparing students for emerging technological challenges. G. Uthayakumaran, Dean, also addressed the gathering and encouraged students to actively participate in technical activities and make effective use of such learning opportunities.
The workshop focused on PCB design fundamentals, circuit layout development, fabrication methods, and testing techniques. It provided participants with valuable insights into industry practices and the practical applications of electronics engineering. The sessions were designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical experience.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on continuous learning, innovation, and industry readiness. The workshop served as a valuable platform for students to strengthen their technical competencies and develop a deeper understanding of printed circuit board design and fabrication.
