Trichy, 11.08.2026: On the occasion of Drug Abuse Prevention Day, an awareness programme on the harmful effects of drug abuse was organized at Shivani Engineering College for the students.
The programme was attended by Dr. K. Anand, Principal; Dr. V. Balasubramaniam, Vice Principal; Mr. G. Stephen Raj Kumar, Registrar; and Er. G. Uthayakumaran, Dean, along with all Heads of Departments and faculty members. They addressed the students on the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug abuse and emphasized the importance of staying away from drugs and following a healthy, disciplined lifestyle.
As part of the programme, all the students of the college took the “Drug-Free Society” pledge, affirming their commitment to creating a society free from drug abuse. Arrangements were also made for all students to watch the drug-abuse prevention awareness programme conducted under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
The programme was successfully conducted with the objective of creating greater awareness among students about drug abuse prevention and encouraging them to uphold their social responsibility towards building a healthy and drug-free society.
